2025 PBI Family Law Institute

Doylestown, PA – Attorney Maris J. Weiner of Williams Family Law will present on the recently enacted “Kayden’s Law” at the Philadelphia Bar Institute (PBI) Family Law Institute on April 8, 2025. The conference, held at the CLE Conference Center in the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia, brings together legal professionals to discuss the latest developments and trends in family law.

Weiner will serve on a panel alongside a family court judge and psychologist to examine the impact of Kayden’s Law, signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro on April 14, 2024. The law, named for a seven-year-old murdered by her biological father, aims to expand protections for children in custody disputes. Weiner and colleagues will cover the legal framework, psychological implications, and implementation of the law in the court system. They will also explore challenges and future considerations surrounding the law’s enforcement.

A recognized leader in family law, Weiner has more than 25 years of experience handling complex and high-stakes cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her practice focuses on high-net-worth divorce, business valuations, executive compensation, custody disputes, and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a distinction held by only about 1,600 attorneys nationwide, and also completed training with the AAML to obtain certification as a family law arbitrator.

Conference attendees are eligible for CLE credits. For more information or to register, visit www.pbi.org.
