New Orleans - Williams Family Law founder and managing partner Jeffrey M. Williams recently presided over the mid-year meeting of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), held on January 12, 2018 at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group also gathered for a networking event the evening prior to the meeting at August, a Michelin star-rated restaurant in a 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans' Central Business District.
Williams, who is currently president of AAML’s Pennsylvania Chapter, is a leading family and divorce law attorney in Pennsylvania. He has been named to ‘Best Lawyers in America’ for eleven straight years, he is a diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers (whose membership is limited to 100 attorneys nationwide) and has been selected as one of the “Ten Leaders of Greater Philadelphia for Matrimonial & Divorce Law" since 2004.
Over half of the AAML Pennsylvania fellows attended the meeting, at which attendees gathered to discuss legislative issues – such as Pennsylvania House Bill 1250, which focuses on alimony and support, and new legislation on grandparent custody – as well as the charitable outreach of the AAML Foundation, which has given over $100,000 to Pennsylvania charities since its formation.
Membership in AAML, which was founded in Chicago in 1962 to “provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law,” is a highly selective process and there are currently just over 1,650 fellows nationwide.
